Recognise the problem
The next step depends on the type of test, the reported findings and the property circumstances. A positive screening result is not a complete remediation specification.

You have a screening result or an existing report but are unsure what it means. A review or further testing may be needed before a decontamination scope can be agreed.
There is a decision or deadline ahead. Share it early, along with the report and occupancy details, so the appropriate next step can be discussed.
The work
Restoration Company confirms the work after reviewing the report and property requirements. The remediation scope may include:
The quote covers the stated decontamination work. Testing, report review, contents handling, disposal and reinstatement must be identified as included or separate. Restoration Company does not promise self-clearance, a guaranteed result or a compliance arrangement that has not been confirmed.
Testing & verification
A tester's findings establish what is known before remediation. After decontamination, testing establishes the remaining residue; a visual inspection or a clean-looking room cannot substitute for that evidence.
For rental-property work under the 2026 regulations, paid decontamination contractors and those carrying out the relevant testing must be separate. Confirm the testing arrangements before accepting a remediation scope. Different brand names alone do not establish the required separation.
Detections handles existing meth report-review enquiries through Local Cleaning. This does not mean Detections is automatically the independent post-work tester for a Restoration Company job; that arrangement must be checked for the particular property.

How it works
Provide the complete testing report, property location, occupancy and any relevant deadline. Explain what work has already been undertaken.
Clarify whether the evidence is sufficient to scope remediation or whether report review or further testing is needed first.
Confirm the affected areas, method, access, contents plan, price and separate testing arrangements before work begins.
Carry out the agreed decontamination. Subsequent testing informs whether further work is needed and what the next property decision should be.
Before we start
Do not move, dispose of or treat belongings based only on a brief test summary. Contents and access need an agreed plan. If you suspect active manufacture or an immediate hazard, contact the appropriate authorities; this enquiry form is not an emergency service.
Scope, cost and timing
The affected areas, surfaces, contents, access and test findings determine the work. A single reported number does not establish the full cleaning, disposal or reinstatement cost.
Ask for the quote to distinguish decontamination, testing, contents work and repairs. Timing depends on access, the agreed process and subsequent testing; there is no automatic completion or clearance date.
For occupied rentals, access, disruption and any relocation arrangements need to be discussed by the landlord and tenants. Get appropriate advice about tenancy or insurance decisions rather than treating a remediation quote as a legal or coverage decision.
Restoration Company enquiry
Send the report with your enquiry so the appropriate next step can be discussed. Restoration Company is responsible for any agreed decontamination quote and work.
If you need interpretation of a report rather than a remediation quote, choose an existing meth report review on the Detections page. Report-review scope and fees are confirmed through Detections.

Not automatically. The type of test, levels, locations and applicable property requirements matter. A screening result may require detailed testing or review before remediation can be scoped. Send the full evidence rather than relying on a positive label or an isolated number.
The rental-property regulations that took effect on 16 April 2026 set 15 µg/100 cm² as the maximum acceptable meth residue level. They also prescribe testing and decontamination requirements. Application to a particular property needs the complete evidence and appropriate advice; use the current Tenancy Services guidance linked below.
The required testing must be separate from the person carrying out decontamination. For paid rental-property work, confirm the prescribed separation between the contractor and testing parties before work is agreed. Restoration Company does not offer to certify or clear its own decontamination.
Detections handles report-review enquiries, including pre-purchase reviews of existing reports. You can enquire through Local Cleaning and attach the PDF. The review scope and fee are confirmed first; it does not automatically include new testing or a site visit.
Do not assume either that everything must go or that everything can be retained. The material, condition, evidence and applicable requirements inform the contents plan. Cleaning, removal, replacement and responsibility for disposal must be agreed for the relevant items.
The work is followed by the required testing under the applicable framework. Its findings determine whether further decontamination is needed. A clean appearance, absence of odour or a contractor's assurance does not replace that testing.
Do not assume that a contractor's quote decides occupancy or tenancy rights. The landlord and tenants need to discuss access, disruption and any relocation arrangements, with appropriate advice for the property's circumstances. Tell us about occupancy before the work is scoped.
It depends on the affected areas, materials, contents, access and evidence. Testing and any reinstatement work may be separate. Send the full report first; the scope, price, testing arrangements and schedule are confirmed before work is booked.
Share the report, property details and any questions. We'll discuss what is needed before agreeing the work.
